Sony Planting rootkit into your computer [DRM mechanism]

Hmm..luckily i do not buy music CD with copy-protection as i absolutely hate buying them after paying for the music content and not be able to decide what to do with them.

Sony BMG recently became the centre stage of the controversy when their BMG Sony automatically install a cloaked spyware from XCP technology to protect it content. And interestingly those who owned World of Warcraft were delighted that Sony Rootkit disabled the anti-cheating spyware Blizzard is using it's world.net. Thus prompting many WoWs players to use this back door to cheat in WoW.

Mark Russinovich was the one that made the discovery when he realised the cd he purchased online was copy protected. Worth walking down the rabbit hole here.

So people, dun mess with the best and die like the rest [Hacker]

After much complains, Sony decided to offer the removal kit for it's cloaking execution.
Download here if you do owned a Sony BMG music protected CD.
