It's Me dun shoot!!!

I have joined the People Republic Chinese Army to fight against Western Imperialism...kaka
I love my AK-74.

If you see me in Battlefield 2 as intenze168...dun shoot me, ok? Be a good boy.

My favorite role is Medic and Support combat.

Sat Blue....for at least till 1am

Hiya, this weekend was a little too rush for all its matter, it all started on Fri while i was shopping for a Memory module for our disk array RAID controller during lunch time, then i took a quick stroll at Sim Lim Sq to see what new things i that can add into to my workstation, then i noticed that CoolerMaster's Centurion 5 was selling @SG$98! really felt tempted as i was comtemplating for a chassis upgrade, the thought continue to filth after work and i headed off to Cybermind and walk off with one brand new chassis home. It was taking me too long to do a motherboard and periperhal transfer, but i was in facts i ended up more busy to take in calls for fri outing..

Both May and Lily called....

Anyway, May said she wanna dropped by and picked me up...so while i just did my workstation,
everything just look the way it was, spanking good o' puter...So while was commuting in the cab, May was curious and wondering what kind of place is Union Square. We thought it was located at Novena Square, but matters of fact. It was at Armara Hotel. Ran by my hatred NTUC, i was 'nt keen as well. May was worst, the moment she saw those dirty old men stooding outside with their filipino friends and...a mixture uncle, we made a strategic U-Turns!! what a boring night, headed off to a stupid german pub and had my Hooegarden insteads. No movies..nothing, i went out and laze off.

Sat, before meeting Lily and in the late afternooni headed straight to Sim Lim Sq againt to walk walk and see see, then somehow. I brought EA's Battlefield 2 from DICE to quench my cyber blood thrist at my usual gaming outlet, Tec-Drome. I used to buy lotsa games in the pasts from this boss and it amazing he still remembered me. *hint

Anyway, after having dinner with Lily and gang [Salsa gang *hee] i part way with them and went home to install Batttlefield 2. After removing DOOM 3 from my workstation, i went on to install and patch the game to the latest releases off i go. But to my horror, the game refused to start up and return a prompt that i have CD/DVD emulation software running!! WTF!!, the thought of going online and be part of the cyber cannon fodder against 64 players were slowly draining as i googled for solutions. After a quick search, it was SafeDisc Copy Protection stopping me, and relunctantly i removed CloneCD knowing that SafeDisc had blacklisted CloneCD with or without Virtual drive installed. As usual, my relentless effort paid off and soon i found myself on in a battle ground looking likes a new horn and a trigger happy finger. Tactically, this game offers pretty comprehensive likes role playing as Medic, Engineer, Special Force, Assault force, Support and driver [all vechicles] and a chance to relive "Black Hawk Down" military operation.

But my network latency from SCV did not turn out well, as my ping is pretty high. I pretty sure my workstation is up to scratch despite my hardware did kinda exceeded the required specification by a small margin. In facts, mine was no slouch. 2Gb PC3200 ECC memory, Pentium 4 3.2Ghz [lousy leh], Nvidia 6600 GT [AGP], Audigy 2 ZX Pro, SCSI hard disk and DVD writer plus a well maintained Win XP Pro OS, this workstation had served me well over the month. But i will definitely get to the bottom of this.

Read the review...pretty interesting game structure.

Bang Bang!!

Manz...reading this article reminded me of my army training days. Since we were always allocated with a limited amount of "blanks" in BMT, we usually resorted to using our mouth to simulate rifle firing "bang bang"...no one ever complain actually? So just picture...a moral of a soldier can be pre-determined by the sound of the bang bang actually.

A low toned "bang bang" means i fucking boring hiding in this fucking bush and yet shouting like no tomorrow.

An aggresive toned "bang bang" means, lets do these shit quickly and go back to bunk and shower fast fast!!! :D

After BMT, i went to SAFINCO for my Corporal training, only then..the bang bang days were history as we usually got too much supplies of "Ammo Blanks" for exercises and training. Reason was having to fire too much blank made the M16 rifle harder to clean. For those "1st Blood" calibre like me...usually it was a good way to vent my frustration against the army regime..hahaha

Here what our British's soldier takes on "Bang Bang"

Ultraman Nexus

Hee...am watching Ultra Nexus at the moment, basically i have not started watching the 1st episode, but it look pretty enticing to follow the whole series...i will be going after the whole series.

BTW, the Night Raider's team has some nice chicks, just dun mess with them :D

Consider that a warning.

hee...:D

Be like water..

Today is Bruce Lee's 65 Birthday anniversary since his death in 1973. His words and wisedom had etched my mind when i was young watching his movie.

And beside his martial art expertises, Bruce Lee was considered one of a man with a deeper mind. Combining the zen of philosophy in this
creation of a Jeet Kune Do, a free form of martial art practises without bounding itself to rules and rigid fighting tactics that been traditionally formulated in China, Japan and Korea.

Internationally, I would said he is one truely marvellous Asian in promoting asian's spirit and awareness to the western world at the height of communist tension in the late 60s and 70s. It was his swift and vicious fighting movements that captured the hearts of many people, considering his 5ft 7in built, Bruce Lee is not a something you want to face, his fists and legs are very swift and powerful, it was well known that Bruce can strike you within a single inch and yet deliver massive damaging power. Not someone you could mess around, even Bolo Yueng & Chuck Norris all claimed that Bruce is not as small as you think. No Slouch...i serious.

Right, after much shit from me...let's us remember him.

Quick Bio of our legendary Bruce Lee.

Watch Bruce's flash movie here

Bruce's qoute < Bruce Lee Fanclub UK>

"Absorb what is useful, Discard what is not, Add what is uniquely your own"

"Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do."

Whilst teaching a young student in Enter The Dragon, and after telling him "hit me" twice, (both were feeble kicks) he then grabs the student, tells him you must learn to concentrate, points to the sky (whilst twisting his head skywards) and quotes "It is like a finger pointing away to the moon" (at which point he pauses and slaps the student on the forehead) and continues... "DON'T concentrate on the finger, or you will miss all the heavenly glory".

"There is no fixed teaching. All I can provide is an appropriate medicine for a particular ailment."

"Jeet Kune Do - It is having no limitation as limitation"

"Jeet Kune Do uses no way as way The consciousness of self is the greatest hindrance to the proper execution of all physical action."

"The aim of art is to project an inner vision into the world, to state in aesthetic creation the deepest psychic and personal experiences of a human being. It is to enable those experiences to be intelligible and generally recognized within the total framework of an ideal world."

"I hope martial artists are more interested in the root of martial arts and not the different decorative branches, flowers or leaves."

hehee Political Bullshit

Date: 17 July 2005
From: Mr See Leong Kit
Singapore Review
Subject: What is Political Bullshit?

For the past few years, our charity donors have to put up with all the
"corporate bullshit" from the National Kidney Foundation.

But this pales in comparison with the many "political bullshit" which
long-suffering Singaporeans have to tolerate for 40 years (following
independence from British colonial rule) !!!

"An empty language for empty heads"

by John Kay (Visiting Professor, London School of Economics)

Financial Times 11 July 2005

When George Orwell wrote his magisterial essay, Politics And The English
Language, in 1946, bullshit was political bullshit.

There is still a lot of that about. Election campaigns in Britain,
constitutional arguments in Europe and global summits in Scotland have produced
political bullshit in quantity.

But the worst abuses of the language now come from business people and
management gurus.

Lies and spin communicate, but what they communicate is false. The defining
characteristic of bullshit is that it does not attempt to communicate at all.
Bullshit has the vocabulary and syntax of ordinary language but not the meaning.

And, in fact, the metaphor is not apt. What we describe as bullshit is more
like candy floss --- when you bite into it, there is nothing there.

The symptoms of bullshit are familiar. Stock phrases are parroted without
thought --- change drivers, organisational transformation.

Words are given meanings different from their ordinary sense --- government
spending is called investment.

Bullshit creates new words --- empowerment, creovation --- but these do not
define original ideas. They describe concepts too nebulous to be expressed by
terms with known meaning.

Bullshit is characterised by prolixity --- "serving customers better"
becomes "striving for continuous improvement in the customer relationship
management space".

Why do people talk or write when they have nothing to say?

Sometimes there are good reasons. When the Queen pays a royal visit, her
remarks tell people nothing other than that she is present. But that purpose is
important. Some of what senior executives do has this symbolic role. Such
speeches are properly short and banalities suffice.

So most bullshit is simply to fill space. Sometimes, people do not want to
speak but are required to. The growing culture of audit and accountability has
stimulated such obligatory communication --- read any corporate risk assessment
or statement of auditors' responsibilities. Written by word processor, read by
nobody, this material is generally innocuous.

But the purpose of bullshit is often deceptive. The squirming politician,
forbidden to lie but unable to tell the truth, must bullshit. see "Lifting The
Veil On Singapore Politics";
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Sg_Review/message/1755

But not all the audience had noticed that the words they heard meant
nothing. If you are asked to report on implementation milestones towards Key
Performance Indicators, you are obliged to reply in the same language. Before
long, you speak this way yourself.

Proper academic training, which emphasises substance over form, is an
antidote, and many universities still provide it. Business schools, where both
the faculty and students must disguise how little they know, sometimes do the
opposite.

The most powerful enemy of bullshit is ridicule, and the most powerful ally
of bullshit is the corporate conformity* that makes such ridicule impossible.

The more authoritarian* the culture, the more bullshit.

If bullshit tells you nothing else, it tells you something about the
organisation* that excretes it.

Who said Malaysia no good?? Malaysia Boleh !!!

Sorry folks, lately have been fucking bz for some reasons. Been too many work sighz.....sibeh sian.

It had been a week since the NKF's saga ended, NKF's TT Dudai after getting his anal toasted by @:) Darvinder Singh had indeed spilled some juicy linens in just over 2 days. I mean, it was just only two days of ass chewing and so much stuffs had been exposed. Bear u, it is just only whip cream over Caffe Mocha for u, there's more to dig, i sure. Then a round robin of ministers took turns to ask for more transparency in handling NKF's fund. But they forgot that to remind themselves as well, what atrocity...

Anyway, for some innocent Singaporean. Time to wake up to see for yourself. Your Neighbor is not much worse than the media depicted. And they were doing real public charity by charging less than S$30 for each session. So in future before u made that golden mouth call, think whose pocket you are putting ya $$ to....

Malaysia Boleh!! haha

Looking for a new processor?

hey...folks, looking for a new processor to enhance your net life?

Just hit the local computer stores [Sim Lim, where else?] on the weekend to get myself a new mice. After much consideration between a Logitect MX510, MX518 and Razorback's high performance gamer mice.

I opted for the Logitech MX518 finally which delivers 1600dpi of mice resolution and ability to change mice sensitive on the fly without having to mess around with the logitech Mouse driver.
And 8 buttons to deck, i can use all the buttons on the mice to map all relative commands. Only caveat is this mouse cost me SG$95 buck... Like it all says, good things never come cheap.

And of course, while strolling and seeing those little AMD Opteron processor sitting on the sales table make me drool.

So folks, if you looking a new Opteron baby with spar to enhance your computing experience...look for AMD Opteron FX57 (San Diego Core, with more cache)

You sure never regret.

A life and death of Alpha Processor

Heralded as one of the best designed RISC based Processor by the best Engineers, this Alpha Processor had gone from rising to fallen from grace by Intel's dirty hands. And of course HP's Carly Fiona was one of the string puller in Alpha demise by sleeping with Intel. For all ya info, Intel and HP co-developed Itantium for high end server 64 bit processor, but the one that stood its way was Digital Alpha. Thus HP having brought out Compaq who happened to own Digital killed the whole development. Many DEC engineers joined AMD and live to fight another battle with Intel.

In facts many release generation of AMD's processors ranging from K6-2, K6-3, Athlon and eventually the existinng Opteron processor were based on its concept.

Busy lately but this is one sad news for my ex-colleagues

Natsemi is where i used to serve for 7 years before i venture to the land of bits and bytes.

Its a sad day indeed for my ex-fellow colleagues who had stayed on. But they were advised by that the day will come when i prophesized in year cica 1999.

Full monty as below.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SAN FRANCISCO — Continuing to cut costs, National Semiconductor Corp. late Wednesday (July 13) said that it will not sell its assembly and test plant in Toa Payoh, Singapore, as previously planned. Instead, National will shut down the plant — a move that will impact 950 employees.
Following National's announcement to seek a buyer for its Singapore plant on March 10, the company has now decided to accelerate its cost savings by closing the plant and consolidating its production volume into National's two other assembly and test facilities in Melaka, Malaysia, and Suzhou, China.
The closure is consistent with National's ongoing program to maximize resources and support for the company's analog businesses.
A majority of the equipment that is currently in Singapore will be transferred to the other assembly and test plants and utilized to support ongoing products and customers. However, the closure will impact approximately 950 employees, including professional staff, technicians and operators.
National estimates that it will incur charges in the range of $27 million to $30 million during the first quarter of fiscal 2006, primarily for severances. The company expects to eventually achieve quarterly cost savings of $4 million to $6 million from this action.
What's behind the London attack?
Just as i suspected the London bombing may have rigged from the western world as UK is drafting a new bill for deployment of soldier @danger zone aka...Iraq, Iran?? The attack would have used to galvanise anger against "terrorism"
You may have think it is crazy to bomb its own citizen for greater cause. But history again had shown that nothing is going to stop the politician from committing such atrocity, Pearl Harbour, World Trade Center, Tonkin Gulf incident (that triggered Vietnam war) and many more.
Sianz...weekend have to do some work
Kena some big prospective project (Regional) whole two days have been restricted to drawing visio diagrams, now my eye very strained.
Lucky my neck is as good as new. Thank to Phiten hahaha :D
Durden Tyler says...
Narrator: And then, something happened. I let go. Lost in oblivion. Dark and silent and complete. I found freedom. Losing all hope was freedom.
Durden Tyler : Without pain, without sacrifice, we would have nothing.
Durden Tyler:
The first rule of Fight Club is - you do not talk about Fight Club.
The second rule of Fight Club is - you DO NOT talk about Fight Club.
Third rule of Fight Club, someone yells Stop!, goes limp, taps out, the fight is over. Fourth rule, only two guys to a fight.
Fifth rule, one fight at a time, fellas.
Sixth rule, no shirt, no shoes.
Seventh rule, fights will go on as long as they have to.
And the eighth and final rule, if this is your first night at Fight Club, you have to fight.
Durden Tyler: Listen up, maggots. You are not special. You are not a beautiful or unique snowflake. You're the same decaying organic matter as everything else.
Durden Tyler: You're not your job. You're not how much money you have in the bank. You're not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet. You're not your fucking khakis. You're the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world.
Durden Tyler: Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off.
Durden Tyler: Fuck off with your sofa units and serine green stripe patterns, I say never be complete, I say stop being perfect, I say let... lets evolve, let the chips fall where they may.
Durden Tyler: This is your life and it's ending one minute at a time.
Durden Tyler: We're a generation of men raised by women. I'm wondering if another woman is really the answer we need.
Durden Tyler:
Hitting bottom isn't a weekend retreat. It's not a goddamn seminar. Stop trying to control everything and just let go! LET GO!
Durden Tyler: Listen to me! You have to consider the possibility that God does not like you. He never wanted you. In all probability, he hates you. This is not the worst thing that can happen
Durden Tyler: All the ways you wish you could be, that's me. I look like you wanna look, I fuck like you wanna fuck, I am smart, capable, and most importantly, I am free in all the ways that
you are not.
Durden Tyler: First you have to give up, first you have to *know*... not fear... *know*... that someday you're gonna die.
Durden Tyler: Only after disaster can we be resurrected.
Durden Tyler: This is your life... good to the last drop.
Durden Tyler: The things you own end up owning you.
Up Yours!!!
Remember the Traffic Police was knocked down?
Poor sob...lying on the tarmac..haha
Wow, what an exercising week!!
Due to non-flying schedule, i was able to get some exercising going this week. Yes, indeed this week was rather a wake up call for me as i realised on wed's gym session while stepping on the weighting machine. My weight lofted from 65kg to 67.7kg!!
I also felt my jeans were a little less loose as compared to few months back, sometime i just can't help it. Due to the frequent flying plus the booze [Korea in particularly] and gluttony [Yuck!] it pretty hard to stay in schedule.
I had Soccer last sunday, Wed gym session, Sat swimming and today jogging. Not too bad i guessed. Hopefully it stay that way up to a month. I should be able to regain some shape.
In addition, i deworm today to clear up my stomache for potential worms...
Hee, i missed my badminton game. Hopefully can find kaki and have a smashing good time.
Got to work now.
Phiten Titantium Racing NeckLace
With the recent surge in "Racing" F1 sports, many products had been spawned to take advantages of it. Phiten is no exception likewise.
They had introducted a new "stylo" Racing Necklace for racing fans.
My conversation with the Phiten's Sales Gal at Taka shopping centre (hee :P) lead to me believed quite a majority of ranges had been sold out. In facts i wanted to get the Titanium ring as well. My fingers get very strain after long hrs of punching the keyboard...hopefully these would helps. Stock replenishment will be 2 weeks later.
Comtemplating now...another iPod armband
Geez...i wore the XtremeMac iPod Shoulder today only to realise how convenient it had given me. While freeing myself from "pocketing" or hanging my iPod Shuffle from my Sony NX-1 Ear Plug necklace, i got it strapped to my shoulder as if i am Bruce Wayne in Batman "Just began"
hee...
XtremeMac also made iPod shoulder strap.
Check this out as well.
Welcome Retna
Lil sis had her blog done up...i hope u folks head off for a lookie.
One of her infamous qoute was "Oh God, if you cannot made me slim, at least make my friends FAT!!!""
Wtf!!! no wonder i gaining 2KG, i am going to give her a kick!!
And lastly, She took my pix without me knowing!!!
On the contrary, the picture was ok lar. As usual, i was in my Nike's top.
A spendthrift weekend
Today i have been quite a spendthrift.
In the afternoon while heading to Taka to claim my Citibank's reward coupon for $100 Taka's voucher. I brought an Addias running T shirt [real cool one] (need one for gym) plus a Titanium necklace from Phiten which helped to eliminate strains and ache. After rounding the range up, I picked a light blue neck strap with grey wording to avoid people noticing. I am probably going to get the finger ring variant as well, as my fingers can get very strain after long hours punching the keyboard.
Then in the evening, i decied to join Retna for a swim after negotiating a centralized location between me and her.....but still one problem propped up. I had no swimming trunk. So i sms her that i will head off to get a pair of decent trunk and meet her later.
Managed to find a "Speedo" swimming tight @Bishan Junction 8's Royal Sport, hee....after teasing the sales gal when she trying to recommend me a RED swiming trunk..i could not see when it look good on me. So i carefully use my word and told her "Alamak, the red swimming trunk attracts alligator leh" haha she chuckled and i headed off to pay for my swimmming tight.
I made few breath swimming with a combination of frog stroke and free style...but due to lack of swimming practices. I got exhausted easily and i kept going on and it was after 30 mins, i managed to get the stroke in sync while Retna had did her 18 laps. But unfortunately, i got both legs cramps so we headed off for a quick dinner.
To add to my shopping spree, i brought a iPod Shuffle Shoulder strap made of velco from XtremeMac. it was well made and costing me $54!!! It was then i knew the Apple iPod Shoulder strap was rendered out of production as it had a design flaw. Lucky i did not buy it under Robin's suggestion. Now i can go gym with my baby iPod Shuffle without the rotten music from the gym's speaker.
:)
Here what i got.
Late @night, i got a call from Taro my Thai friend. He had made a business trip and we will be meeting tomorrow morning for a coffee chat.
My son's more successful than yours
My son's more successful than yours.
Four men got together to play golf one sunny morning. As they
were heading out to the course, one of them was detained by a
phone call.
The other three were discussing their children while walking to
the first tee.
"My son," said one proudly, "has made quite a name for himself
in the home building industry. He began as a carpenter, but now
owns his own design and construction firm. He's so successful,
in fact in the last year he was able to give a good friend a
brand new home as a gift."
The second man, not to be outdone, boasts how his son began his
career as a car salesman, but now owns a multi-line dealership.
"He's so successful, in fact, in the last six months he gave a
friend two brand new cars as a gift."
The third man brags that his son has worked his way up through a
stock brokerage firm, and has become so successful that in the
last few weeks has given a good friend a large stock portfolio
as a gift.
As the fourth man arrives at the tee box, the three smugly tell
him that they have been discussing how successful their progeny
are, and ask what line of work his son is in.
"To tell the truth, I'm not very pleased how my son has turned
out," he replies. "For fifteen years, he's been a hairdresser,
and I've just recently discovered he's gay."
As the other three recoil in horror, he continues, "but on the
bright side, he must be good at what he does, because his last
three boyfriends have given him a brand new house, two new cars,
War of the Worlds
Just got back from watching this War of the Worlds directed by Steven Spielburg with Tom Cruise and Miranda Otto.....
I really cannot stomache the slow story buildup and this stupid Dakota Fanning as Rachel kept screaming left and right made me feel really irritating.
In all, i rate this movie 6/10 for dwelling too much on the characters. Its good to build the characters in the movie. But many things were lost out in the process, and u won't believed that the whole town folks were all zapped by Alien tripod vechicle and non of the death ray hurt Tom Cruise...amazing manz.
I still believed Batman Begin a better movie.
AMD sue Intel Japan
AMD hot on it heel on Intel had decided to sue intel Japan for anti business conduct.
Its was widely known that Sony used to made range of AMD processor based notebooks and sales were very good until Intel Japan strongarm Sony into submission.
As AMD Processor making waves with their new generation processor Opteron FX 57 and Dual Core Opterons, Intel on their own ends have been doing their own catch up game. AMD seige the moment to launch the lawsuit against Intel, on the contrary we all know that AMD may not win the Anti-trust lawsuit, but that at least it ensure that Intel play the good boy for a while.
This give more chances for AMD to gain greater acceptance from pc vendors. HP, SUN, SuperMicro, Acer and IBM have been of the few who are introducing Opteron system into their mid tier server.
The battle indeed a strike back to Intel's empire.
Movies i have been watching lately
BatMan begins, 4th time, you had gotten right in my opinion, Director Christopher Nolan [Momento] had pictured a more humane Bruce Wayne and in facts tell a much true to life Bruce Wayne that we used to know in the last 4 series. And new Batman was depicted to recieve Ninja-do training which was a good indictation why he struck could fear into his enemies using stealth and ferociousity.
Besides Christian Bale putting on a good act, Micheal Cain fitted the role as his butler like a condom in a dick and Gordon was duly brought to life by Gary Oldman.
Sin City, i caught the video on a realmedia format which my friend managed to download from bit torrent sites. Technically, i was very impressed with the production value and how it had portray Frank Miller's comic true to every details. The story evolves on three characters who somehow fought a heroic crusader against the filth of sin city. Despite the three heroes were screen separately, the story line somehow connect one to another among some of the characters involves. The action is gruesome and it definitely not for someone who had the faint of heart.
But if you were Kill Bill kind of Fan, Sin City promised to deliver twice the among of blood bags.
